Uzbekistan Airways changed its flight routes to Europe following a recommendation from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency. The airline now bypasses Russian airspace via Azerbaijan and Turkey, extending flight times by 30 to 40 minutes, the company chairperson said.
Uzbekistan Airways flight HY101 from Tashkent to New York was interrupted twice. Initially, the plane returned to Tashkent due to a passenger’s health issues. Later, it made an unscheduled landing in Canada after a passenger went into premature labor.

Uzbekistan Airways received its 18th Airbus aircraft, an A320neo. Four more due to arrive by the end of the year. They will have the simplified fuselage color due to the carrier’s plans to refresh its corporate livery.
Uzbekistan Airways signed an agreement with Czech aircraft manufacturer LET Aircraft Industries to purchase up to four LET L-410-E20 light turboprop aircraft. They are to be used for flights within Uzbekistan.
